Wherever I can - and it’s a luxury - I try and arrive in a place before I need to be there. It doesn’t matter if it my first time or an old haunt.
I wouldn’t go as far as Jason Bourne knowing where all the exits are, which way the wind’s blowing, and who is carrying a gun but I definitely like to sniff the air, ask around what’s on, get a feel for the place.
The same goes before I leave. After finishing what I have to do, I take time while still in the same environment to let the dust settle (think laundry), tie up any loose ends (think shopping) and… just… reflect (think pool, spa, library, more food...).
This is Bookending. And it's a luxury few of us have the time for. But taking a few days’ to familiarise yourself and mentally prepare before something like a Dave's Tour makes a huge difference to your enjoyment of it.
Equally the time after such an experience warrants not just some recovery time - I hide not that my tours are pretty full on - but also the luxury of reflection.
Dave's Tours are not designed just as entertainment or a holiday - although they are that - but to be thought provoking, sometimes challenging, and potentially transformational.
If you can, I highly recommend bookending your trip, and helping you do so - without covering ground twice or spoiling the fun - is something I and my partners just love to do.
So please let us know at the time of booking if that is something you would like to do.
